Public exhibition on proposals for Lionel Road South

On Friday 15th and Saturday 16th May a public exhibition will be held at Brentford Boating Arch on the plans to develop the land surrounding the new Brentford Community Stadium at Lionel Road South.

Brentford FC received detailed planning consent for this new community stadium in June 2014.

Outline planning consent was also granted for up to 910 new homes, 1,200 sqm of retail and a new 160 bed hotel alongside public and private amenity space on the land surrounding stadium site.

Prime Place, which is part of Willmott Dixon – Brentford FC’s development partner, is now preparing a reserved matters planning application which will detail how these elements of the site are to be developed.

The public exhibition will provide an opportunity for local residents to give their feedback on the plans. Members of the Prime Place/Willmott Dixon and Brentford FC project teams will be available to explain the proposals and answer any questions you may have.

Please see below the newsletter that was sent to local residents about the public exhibition:

Public exhibition on the future of Griffin Park

Brentford FC have begun to work with Willmott Dixon on the future of Griffin Park once the Club has moved from its historic home.

Griffin Park has Outline Planning Permission for residential development which was extended in March 2012.

Willmott Dixon are preparing a reserved matters planning application which will detail how the site is to be developed.

They are planning to deliver much needed new family-sized town houses with on-site parking and they have also committed to recognising Griffin Park’s proud sporting heritage and important place in the community through the inclusion in the proposals of a memorial garden.

The memorial garden will also honour the memories of Brentford supporters whose ashes have been scattered on the Griffin Park pitch.

The Club will be hosting a public exhibition in The Hive to give local residents and our supporters the opportunity to give feedback to Willmott Dixon and their architects on the plans on Friday 17 and Saturday April 18, before the home game against Bolton Wanderers.

Members of the Willmott Dixon and Brentford Community Stadium project team will be available to explain the proposals and answer any questions you may have regarding the Griffin Park planning application and the Brentford Community Stadium project.

The exhibition will be held from 4pm to 7pm on Friday April 17 and from 9:30am to 1pm on Saturday April 18.

The Hive bar will be open from 12 noon for supporters wishing to view it before the home game against Bolton.

The exhibition will finish at 1pm, supporters wishing to continue using The Hive will be asked to briefly exit and re-enter Griffin Park to allow season cards to be scanned.
