Compulsory Purchase Order of land needed for the new Lionel Road development approved by government
Brentford FC is pleased to confirm that on the 1st April, the Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government; the Rt Hon. Greg Clark MP approved the Compulsory Purchase Order (CPO) for the land required for the new Brentford Community Stadium project. This CPO includes the Capital Court site, currently occupied by a disused and derelict office block, together with other small parcels of land that will complete the 11.7 acre development site.
Commenting on the decision, the Chairman of Brentford FC, Cliff Crown, said:
“Achieving the approval for the Compulsory Purchase Order is another step forward in our development plans. I’d like to thank all parties involved in getting us to this stage, with special thanks to the London Borough of Hounslow who led the process.
“This approval marks the start of further important legal steps that the Club and the London Borough of Hounslow now need to follow. We look forward to being able to make further progress over the coming months.”
